QPR join hunt for left-back with UEFA Champions League experience

Queens Park Rangers continue to be linked with players as they prepare for a summer reshuffle, following consecutive 15th place finishes in the Championship.

Reinforcements are required all over the pitch, and left-back is a priority.

With the end of Rhys Norrington-Davies' loan from Sheffield United, Ziyad Larkeche being out of contract and the uncertainty surrounding how much Julien Stephan trusts Esquerdinha, it is therefore no surprise that the latest player linked - according to Rudy Galetti - is UD Almeria and Mozambique left-back Bruno Langa.

Langa spent the first half of last season on loan at Pafos, where he featured seven times for the club in their maiden UEFA Champions League campaign before switching to Portuguese side Estrela da Amadora for the back end of the campaign.

The R's are likely to face competition from Elche for the full-back's signature, which may come as bad news after they secured their top flight safety on the final day of La Liga.

The 28-year-old has plenty of experience having bounced around Europe following a move from his native country, and is capable of playing as a full-back or wing-back depending on how Stephan plans on lining up in 2026/27.

A strong carrier of the ball, he had a dribble success rate of 92.9% in the Primeira Liga and showed his ability to track back too with a 73.9% duel win rate.

As a proven player across Europe, he could quite easily come in and hit the ground running in the Championship should QPR decide that Esquerdinha isn't ready yet.
