Puskas award winners

The Puskas award is granted to the player deemed to have scored the "most beautiful" goal in a calendar year.

Cristiano Ronaldo was the winner of the inaugural Puskas award, thanks to his long-range strike against Porto in the 2008/09 UEFA Champions League term.

While Lionel Messi was amongst the contenders on numerous occasions, he was unable to clinch the award, though former Barcelona teammate Neymar was granted the award in 2011.
