Pierre Gasly has regained his third placed finish in the Monaco Grand Prix after Alpine successfully appealed his penalty for speeding in the pit lane.
Two five-second time penalties saw the Frenchman demoted to seventh after the race, as he was penalised with four other drivers for the same offence.
George Russell, Lewis Hamilton, Oscar Piastri and Franco Colapinto were also punished, though the ruling in this appeal only applies to Gasly as the other drivers and teams did not object to the decisions.
Alpine argued that due to changes to the pit lane, drivers could legally drive 77 centimetres less than the distance used to calculate the speed limit.
The pit lane speed limit is measured by using a number of timing loops and the time taken for a car to travel a specific distance through the pit lane.
Five of the six offences in the race were by cars travelling 0.1km/h over the speed limit, the other, which was one of Gasly's, was over by 0.4km/h.
As a result of the error, the stewards have agreed with Alpine and decided to reinstate him onto the podium in the principality.
McLaren have outlined their intention to appeal the decision, due to Piastri dropping to fifth as a result of the ruling and the Australian also losing three places in serving his penalty.
