Formula 1 Driver Salaries 2026: How much do F1 drivers reportedly earn?

Formula 1 is one of the world's most exclusive sports, with only 22 places up for grabs on the grid.

It is also an incredibly dangerous sport to participate in, as despite the various safety measures brought in over the years, ultimately the 20 drivers are vying for position around tight circuits at an average speed of 200mph.

Those that reach the pinnacle of motorsports are therefore handsomely rewarded for it with bumper contracts.

Take a look at the full rundown of the salaries of current F1 drivers, as reported by the Radio Times.

Who is the highest paid F1 driver?

Max Verstappen is the highest paid F1 driver in the 2026 season, on a salary of $70 million.

Achieving four consecutive world titles with Red Bull, the Dutchman is undoubtably deserving of this contract, although speculation remains over Verstappen's long-term future with the Austrian conglomerate.

Who is the lowest paid F1 driver?

The lowest paid driver in F1 is reportedly Arvid Lindblad of Racing Bulls.

The prodigious Lindblad, who is Britain's youngest ever F1 driver, joined Racing Bulls at the start of 2026 following a rapid ascension from F4.

New drivers for the Red Bull sister team tend to be the lowest earners on the grid as they're young, upcoming talents looking to establish themselves on the F1 grid.
