Oxford United are reportedly leading the battle to sign Colchester United winger Kyreece Lisbie this summer.
Lisbie enjoyed a breakthrough campaign in League Two last season as he became one of the division's standout players.
He scored a total of 11 goals in 45 appearances to help Colchester secure a top-half finish.
Lisbie arrived at Colchester in January 2025 after joining from Brentford's B team.
He was immediately loaned out to National League side Braintree Town before featuring for Colchester in the final weeks of the 2024/25 campaign.
The son of former Premier League striker Kevin Lisbie is now the subject of plenty of interest from the EFL, with many clubs believing he could make the step up from fourth-tier football.
Reading and Peterborough were amongst the clubs who were looking to agree terms this summer, but the Reading Chronicle have reported that they are now out of the race.
Instead it is Oxford and an unamed League One club who have moved to the front of the queue to sign Lisbie.
Oxford are planning for life in the third-tier following their relegation from the Championship last season.
Matt Bloomfield's side have been installed as one of the favourites to be promoted from League One but they will need a number of reinforcements if they are to meet expectations.
The addition of Lisbie would provide pace and someone who is willing to dribble and take on defenders.
In addition, his goalscoring credentials have not gone unnoticed and he could be a player who continues to rise through the leagues.
