New Zealander Ryan Fox won the 2026 Open Championship on a thrilling final day at Royal Birkdale.
Fox headed into the final day of The Open two shots behind overnight leader Sam Burns.
He was level with clubhouse leader Cameron Young when approaching the 18th, before producing a marvellous birdie putt to clinch his first major.
The 39-year-old is just the second player from New Zealand to win the Claret Jug after Bob Charles won the 1963 event at Lytham St Annes.
His final day round of one-under par was enough to see off the field on a tense Sunday afternoon, with Young finishing in second place on nine-under overall.
Burns finished one shot further back on eight-under after parring the last, while Scottie Scheffler and Tommy Fleetwood tied for fourth on seven-under.
