Despite their perfect start to the Premier League season in which they've won all seven games, Enzo Maresca's side have been cut from 13/8 to 5/4 for the drop following speculation around their punishment.
While it's no more than speculation at the moment, Mail Sport's Oliver Holt has said that City are set to receive a significant enough points deduction to relegate them as well as receive a points deduction that would keep them in the Championship for a season.
Odds will display when market is available.
City's appeal is expected to conclude by late December with a verdict announced in the new year, though it is believed the Premier League are pushing for the sanctions to be implemented before the appeal is heard, which could be as early as the November international break.
The range of punishments available include a significant fine, expulsion from the Premier League -- which could lead to expulsion from the EFL altogether -- a substantial points deduction (potentially spread across multiple seasons), being stripped of trophies and forcing the owners to relinquish control of the club.
