Nottingham Forest are targeting a deal to sign Newcastle United winger Jacob Murphy before Tuesday's transfer deadline.
Journalist Alex Crook has reported that Forest are interested in wrapping up a move for the player.
It is believed that Newcastle are open to negotiating a transfer before the transfer window shuts.
Murphy is in the final year of his contract at Newcastle and has been pushed down the pecking order in recent times.
The 31-year-old winger has been an unsung hero at St James' Park over the last few years.
He arrived on Tyneside in July 2017 and has gone on to make over 250 appearances for the club.
Nottingham Forest are expected to have a very busy deadline day after being linked with a number of players over the weekend.
Whilst Murphy could arrive as another option on the wing, manager Oliver Glasner is also looking to bring in a goalkeeper, a centre-midfielder and a right-back.
