Nottingham Forest are reportedly amongst the clubs who are exploring a deal to sign Daizen Maeda from Celtic.
Glasgow World have reported that a number of Premier League clubs are interested in negotiating a deal this summer.
Nottingham Forest have shown ambition by appointing former Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner to lead the club into next season.
Glasner had been linked with a number of positions throughout Europe but he has opted to move to the City Ground.
The Austrian manager will know that he does not have time to settle into the job and he will want to add more quality to what is already a talented squad.
Forest should also have plenty of money to spend following the club-record sale of midfielder Elliot Anderson to Manchester City.
Maeda recently excelled for Japan at the 2026 World Cup where he caught the attention with his intense pressing from the front.
The 28-year-old has spent the last four-and-a-half-seasons with Celtic and it is said that he is looking for a new challenge in the prime of his career.
Maeda has scored a total of 79 goals for Celtic across 212 appearances in all competitions.
He has won the Scottish Premiership five times with the club and will go down as one of the club's best forwards in the modern era.
The Japanese striker would almost certainly be the first-choice number nine in the East Midlands if he does join the club, but Forest may have to move quickly as the interest intensifies from other teams.
