Norwich City have reportedly struck an agreement to sign young Cruzeiro defender Bruno Alves on a loan to buy deal.
A Brazil youth international, Alves is yet to make a senior appearance for his club side, despite impressing for their youth squad.
If completed, the 20 year-old would be the Canaries' second signing this summer already, as Philippe Clement looks to bolster his squad ahead of next season, joining Vinnie Leonard.
The deal, which would see the Brazilian turn down the likes of Dynamo Kyiv and Vitoria de Guimaraes to move to Carrow Road, is set to be an initial loan deal, with Norwich set to hold an option to buy in the deal.
No fee for the option to buy has been reported as of yet, with more details set to follow in due course.
Last year, Alves was described by then-Brazil boss Tite as "a great player" who will "have a brilliant future".
Tite continued to say that he "spoke to him privately about what he can improve, but he is a great player, and he knows it because I told him."
A predominantly right footed defender, Alves has shown great ability on his weaker left foot, whilst also demonstrating strong defensive qualities.
During his time with Cruzeiro's youth teams so far, Alves has won the U20 Copa do Brasil and was also called up for the U20 World Cup in 2025.
Norwich have a rich history of signing talents straight from South America, with Gabriel Sara, Marcelino Nunez and Pedro Lima particular successes.
