Newcastle United v Bournemouth tips from the Football Betting Club

Newcastle will look to continue their impressive start to the season when hosting Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.

Matthias Jaissle could hardly have wished for a better start on Tyneside, having cruelly been denied a win against Liverpool before taking all three points off Tottenham, with the Magpies sitting sixth in the Premier League heading into the third round of fixtures.

Bournemouth meanwhile will be wondering what might have been. Leading at the Etihad going into the closing stages, the Cherries lost 2-1, before again throwing a lead away late on against Everton to draw 1-1.

Nathan Joyes said on the Football Betting Club podcast that he believes there's some value to be had in the away side.

Newcastle United v Bournemouth Prediction

Best Bet: Bournemouth to have over 12.5 shots @ 4/5

Nathan said: "The market is chasing goals here, a lot of money has come for Newcastle and I think that's given an opportunity to get the Cherries onside here.

"An angle I like is looking at team shots. Bournemouth are 4/5 to have more than 12 shots and I think that's really intriguing for a few reasons. Newcastle v Bournemouth has been a standout game over the last few years and this bet has landed in four of the last five head-to-heads, the only one it didn't was by one.

"Bournemouth went 1-0 up against Manchester City and then only went on to have five shots in that match so I think we can put that to one side because not many people would have expected Bournemouth to go 1-0 up and then try to hold onto a point, but against Everton they had 17 shots at home and they were 1-0 up in the first half with Everton not equalising until the final minute.

"Bournemouth will be happy to go to St James' Park and be fairly creative, they've got the players to do it, but I think Newcastle will really fancy themselves as well.

"[Matthias Jaissle] can be all guns blazing at times but that can leave gaps in behind and players like Rayan and Kluivert will have their opportunities. I don't think Bournemouth should be as big as 3/1, I think that's a huge price and I think there's been a slight overreaction because Newcastle beat Spurs and held on against Liverpool, but Liverpool had 27 shots in that game."
