Everything you need to know as Muhammad Mokaev prepares to return to the cage when he takes on Jorge Calvo in Ilia Topuria's Way of the Warrior promotion next month.

Mokaev is consistently rated as one of the best flyweight talents in all of MMA, but has found himself in the combat sports wilderness after the UFC opted not to re-sign him following his win over Manel Kape.

The 25-year-old based out of Manchester, England has since won three straight fights outside the Octagon while also scoring a second-round TKO in Karate Combat and competing in submission grappling.

Mokaev was scheduled to feature on the undercard of the upcoming showdown between Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano on Netflix as the streaming giant makes its first foray into the sport.

However, visa issues ultimately forced him out of his fight with Adriano Moraes and he will now compete in Spain's biggest MMA promotion when WOW takes to the Madrid Arena on 6 June.
