Leon Edwards is reportedly set to return to competition at International Fight Week in July.
In a recent media appearance welterweight contender Daniel Rodriguez revealed that the UFC had offered him a fight with Edwards at UFC 329 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Rodriguez is currently riding a three-fight win streak, and climbed into the top 15 at 170lbs with a unanimous decision over Kevin Holland in July of last year.
The 39-year-old American holds a UFC record of 10-4, with wins over Mike Perry, Kevin Lee and Santiago Ponzinibbio.
UFC events that fall during the company's International Fight Week are typically stacked with talent, and this summer's event will be no different, with the promotional debut of Olympic gold medallist and heavyweight super prospect Gable Stevenson already confirmed.
Should the matchup be officially confirmed it will mark Edwards' first outing of 2026.
One of just three British fighters ever to hold UFC gold, Edwards has endured a difficult run since dropping the belt to Belal Muhammad on home soil at UFC 304.
Edwards returned against Sean Brady in March of 2025 - headlining a Fight Night event at the O2 Arena in London - but he was dominated by the American before being submitted in the fourth round.
Against Brazilian contender Carlos Prates at UFC 322 the 34-year-old was competitive in the opening round before being KO'd in the second. The result marked the first knockout loss of his career and extended his winless streak to three fights.
