MotoGP British Grand Prix Prediction and Tips

The 2026 MotoGP season is finely poised as the bikes are fired up again after the summer break and that is shown in the betting for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone on Sunday with six riders at single-figure odds for victory.

The Aprilia pair of Jorge Martin and Ai Ogura lead the standings after the first 11 races of the season with seven-time champion Marc Marquez close behind in third place after winning three of the last four rounds.

Marc Marquez has never particularly shone at Silverstone, though, and, while he is the favourite to extend his recent successful run, he has finished no higher than third in Britain in the last three seasons.

Early MotoGP championship leader Marco Bezzecchi returns to action after missing the last race in Germany through injury, but Fermin Aldeguer and Maverick Vinales are still sidelined.

MotoGP British Grand Prix Tips Summary

Best Bet - Ai Ogura @ 10/3
Alternative Bet - Raul Fernandez each-way @ 7/1
Alternative Bet - Fabio Quartararo each-way @ 50/1

MotoGP British Grand Prix Prediction

Best Bet: Ai Ogura @ 10/3

Ai Ogura has climbed to second place in the MotoGP standings in just his second season at the top level and the 2024 Moto2 champion could boost his championship challenge with a first Silverstone success.

Predicting a new name on the British Grand Prix trophy is not such a bold move as the Silverstone event has, incredibly, been won by a different rider in each of the last 11 seasons.

That trend could easily continue with six of the top eight in the betting having not won the race before.

Ogura has posted two second places and a first in the last three races and, crucially, the win came in the Dutch Grand Prix at Assen, a similar track to Silverstone with high-speed corners and fast changes of direction.

The Aprilia bike turns well in fast corners and Ogura, who will be starting the British Grand Prix for the first time after missing last year's race through injury, could add his name to the long list of different winners.

Alternative Bet: Raul Fernandez each-way @ 7/1

Ogura's Trackhouse Aprilia team-mate Raul Fernandez is up to sixth in the championship after winning the sprint race at Assen before finishing second to Ogura in the main race and taking third in Germany.

And he looks a value bet to finish on the podium again this week.

Fernandez, who also won the sprint in Italy, has never particularly shone at this track but his 2026 bike looks set to be well suited to the challenges that lie ahead at Silverstone.

Marc Marquez and Marco Bezzecchi are still not fully fit after injuries and that could be exposed by the physical demands of this high-speed circuit over the race distance, so Fernandez can be hopeful of another strong showing.

Alternative Bet: Fabio Quartararo each-way @ 50/1

For a real longshot that has surprise potential at Silverstone, consider Fabio Quartararo.

The French rider was the hard-luck story of last year's event in Great Britain as he took pole and was leading the race and looking set for victory when his ride-height device failed and he was forced to retire.

Quartararo has not finished higher than fifth this season but eighth and seventh at the last two rounds were signs of progress and the track could suit his Yamaha bike better than many other venues.
