Most goals as a substitute in the Premier League

We've taken a look at the top 10 players with the most goals as a substitute in the Premier League.

Jermain Defoe leads the way with the most goals as a substitute in Premier League history, with 24 of his 163 top-flight goals coming from the bench.

His first full season in the Premier League was his most prolific as a substitute, with six of his first eight league goals coming from the bench for West Ham in the 2001/02 campaign. Fittingly, he scored his 163rd and final Premier League goal as a substitute, finding the net in Bournemouth's 2-2 draw against Watford in March of 2018.

Scoring the winner from the bench in Manchester United's 2-1 victory over Bayern Munich in the 1999 UEFA Champions League final, Ole Gunnar Solskjær had a knack for making an impact as a substitute.

The Norwegian famously scored four times as a sub in Man Utd's 8-1 victory away at Nottingham Forrest in February 1999, one of just seven players to score a Premier League hat-trick as a substitute and the only player to score four times.

Read on as we list the players with the most goals as a substitute in the Premier League, including top-flight cult heroes Olivier Giroud and Javier Hernandez.
