Arsenal are closing in on the signing of winger Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge in a deal worth €40 million.
According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, the Gunners have met Club Brugge's asking price for the Greece international, who scored 17 goals and registered 23 assists in the Belgian Pro League last season.
Arsenal have been pursuing Tzolis throughout the summer as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his options on the left flank.
The club confirmed the departure of Leandro Trossard to Besiktas in a €20m switch earlier this week, and there is uncertainty around the future of Gabriel Martinelli at the Emirates Stadium amid interest from Serie A giants Juventus and Roma.
Tzolis was the subject of Premier League interest last summer as Crystal Palace attempted to prise him from the Jan Breydel Stadium, but the Eagles were rebuffed in their approach.
Tzolis started his career with PAOK and the prodigious winger was picked up by Norwich City for an undisclosed fee in 2021.
The winger made just 30 appearances for the East Anglian outfit across three years and had loan spells at FC Twente in the Eredivisie and Fortuna Dusseldorf in the 2. Bundesliga before the German club exercised their €3.5m buy option at the end of the 2023/24 season.
Club Brugge purchased Tzolis four weeks later for €6m and the 24-year-old has been a standout performer in the Belgian Pro League, helping Ivan Leko's team to the title last season with 51 goal contributions in all competitions.
Tzolis has won 34 caps for Greece, scoring on nine occasions - including two against Scotland.
It's understood Arsenal had enquired about the services of Juventus' Kenan Yildiz but were informed that the Turkey international was not for sale at any price.
The Gunners remain interested in Aston Villa ace Morgan Rogers - the Premier League champions are 1/2 to secure his signature before the end of the transfer window.
