Most goals and assists in a single Premier League season

Mohamed Salah extended his goals and assists tally in the 2024/25 Premier League campaign to 41 following Liverpool's 2-0 triumph over Manchester City and we've taken a look at the players who have recorded the most goal contributions in a single season.

5. Luis Suarez - 43 G/A

Season: 2013/14
Goals: 31
Assists: 12

Arguably one of the greatest individual seasons in Premier League history, Luis Suarez may easily have smashed the record of goal involvements in a season had the Uruguayan not been suspended for the opening five matches.

Suarez more than atoned for his absence by weaving his magic in the final third to catapult Liverpool into title contention. Spare a thought for Norwich, who were Suarez's primary victims as the forward netted five goals and assists across both fixtures.

Goal involvements dried up towards the back end of the campaign as Liverpool's title challenge faltered, although Suarez did strike the woodwork nine times and his 70 minutes per goal involvement is the best seen in the competition - although Salah may have something to say about that on his current trajectory.

=3. Erling Haaland - 44 G/A

Season: 2022/23
Goals: 36
Assists: 8

As far as debut campaigns go, you'll struggle to find many better than Erling Haaland's at Manchester City.

The striker made a mockery of those who doubted him as he smashed the record for most goals in a single Premier League season, netting a total of 36 times which included four hat-tricks.

He also laid on eight assists, elevating his overall goal involvement tally to the fourth-highest in league history.

=3. Thierry Henry - 44 G/A

Season: 2002/03
Goals: 24
Assists: 20

Thierry Henry, the only man to have scored 20+ goals and assisted 20+ goals in a single Premier League season.

Despite the Frenchman's phenomenal numbers, Arsenal missed out on the title to Manchester United and Henry's 24 goals fell short of the Golden Boot, although he deservedly collected the PFA Players' Player of the Year for an astonishing individual campaign.

=1. Andy Cole - 47 G/A

Season: 1993/94
Goals: 34
Assists: 13

It's worth noting that the top two on this list may require an asterisk as their tallies were achieved over the course of a 42-game season.

Andy Cole topped the charts for both goals and assists in his maiden Premier League season, a feat which has only been replicated once by Harry Kane in 2020/21.

Despite recording a goal involvement in 11 successive league games, Newcastle United were unable to climb any higher than third, finishing 15 points adrift of champions Manchester United.

=1. Alan Shearer - 47 G/A

Season: 1994/95
Goals: 34
Assists: 13

Alan Shearer replicated Cole's campaign a season later as he netted 34 goals and produced 13 assists to help Blackburn Rovers win the Premier League title in 1994/95.

It was comfortably his best season in terms of goal creation as Shearer didn't produce more than seven assists in any other Premier League season, but his goalscoring touch remained a constant throughout his career.

Not only does the former Newcastle striker share the record for most goal involvements in a season, he is the leader for most goal involvements in Premier League history (324).
