Magomed Ankalaev v Bogdan Guskov Tips Preview

Known as one of the best Light Heavyweights in the UFC, Ankalaev recently suffered his first UFC loss since his debut in 2018. This was a defeat to Alex Pereira by KO/TKO in October 2025, which saw him lose his UFC Light Heavyweight title.

Ankalaev is now 12-2-1 in the UFC, but remains the number one-ranked contender in the Light Heavyweight division. This tells us that he is likely to get another shot at winning back his title if he can avoid an upset loss to Guskov.

Ankalaev’s opponent, Guskov, is a rising star in the Light Heavyweight division, going 4-1-1, having only been in the promotion since September 2023. Due to his early success, Guskov is already the #9-ranked fighter in the division, with his most recent fight a draw against Jan Blachowicz, one of the more formidable fighters in the UFC.

Guskov finds himself as a big underdog in this fight with Ankalaev, but has proven to be a knockout artist throughout both in MMA and UFC. This is also the biggest fight of his career, as a win over an athlete like Ankalaev is sure to boost him in the rankings considerably.

Magomed Ankalaev v Bogdan Guskov Top Tip

Over 1.5 Total Rounds @ 10/17

While Guskov has had limited experience in the UFC, three of his six UFC fights have eclipsed 1.5 total rounds, with all three of those actually coming in his last four.

Ankalaev on the other hand, has seen 11 of his 15 career UFC fights go over 1.5 total rounds, including eight of his last nine.

While both Ankalaev and Guskov have immense power and could in theory end this fight early, they also have a history of fighting deep into their respective fights and more than 1.5 rounds appeals on Saturday night.
