Middlesbrough are braced for the departures of Delano Burgzorg and Kaly Sene as they continue their restructure in the attacking department.
As per The Northern Echo, Burgzorg is set to undergo his medical at fellow Championship outfit Preston North End after the two clubs agreed a deal worth £2m.
Meanwhile, Middlesbrough are set to make a £0.5m loss on Sene -- who joined the club for a reported £1.5m in August 2025 -- with the 25-year-old in line to make the £1m switch to Swiss outfit Young Boys.
The need for sales in the front line was glaring after spending in excess of £20m on attackers in the 2026/27 summer transfer window, and so the double exit comes as a surprise to few Boro supporters.
Burgzorg joined the North East outfit for a fee in the region of £2m in 2024 after scoring seven goals and registering two assists for Huddersfield Town in the 2023/24 campaign.
He made 42 Championship appearances in his debut season at the Riverside Stadium, recording seven goal contributions as Boro recorded a 10th place finish.
The Dutch forward was in and out of the team in the first half of the 2025/26 campaign and spent the second half of the term on loan at Bristol City, where he endured similar struggles in front of goal.
He leaves the club with an underwhelming return of eight goals in 71 appearances, and Boro may count themselves fortunate that they are in line to break even on the 27-year-old.
Sene's record in the Swiss Super League showed promise -- scoring 19 goals for Lausanne-Sport across his last two full campaigns -- but he has struggled to adapt to the intense demands of England's second tier.
After playing less than 800 minutes in 28 Championship games for Boro, the Senegalese forward is set to return to Switzerland in the form of 17-time top-flight winners Young Boys.
Boro banked in excess of £20m from Morgan Rogers' move from Aston Villa to Chelsea -- as a result of a 20% sell-on clause included in his prior switch to Villa Park -- while Hayden Hackney's exit to Everton saw the Championship outfit land a guaranteed £16m.
