The Miami Dolphins have included British tight end Seydou Traore in their initial 53-man roster ahead of the 2026 NFL season.
Traore -- a fifth round draft pick earlier this year -- signed a four-year rookie contract worth £3.6m and will now be able to play from the beginning of the 2026/27 campaign after surviving the roster cut from 90 players to 53.
The 24-year-old was born in South London and played for London Warriors before becoming the first-ever graduate of England's NFL Academy to complete his pathway through to the NFL.
Established in 2019, the Loughborough-based youth development system was designed to help international players earn college scholarships and prepare them for the NFL. Traore joined Clearwater Academy in Florida before beginning life at Arkansas State University in 2021, spending two years there before transferring to Mississippi State University in 2023.
The Dolphins' initial roster is the youngest in the league at an average age of 25.3, with nearly half of the 53-man list aged 22, 23 or 24.
General manager Jon-Eric Sullivan is overseeing somewhat of a rebuild after failing to make the playoffs for the second successive season in 2025/26. This has been reflected in their results during Preseason, losing all three of their matches against the Atlanta Falcons, New York Giants and Washington Commanders.
Miami traded quarterback Quinn Ewers to the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for a sixth-round pick in 2028, leaving them with Cam Miller or Mark Gronowski as options behind starter Malik Willis.
They begin their season with a trip to the Allegiant Stadium where they face-off against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday 13th September.
The Dolphins are 15/1 to make the playoffs in 2026/27 and, for those more optimistic, 150/1 outsiders to win the AFC Championship.
