Memphis Depay has etched his name into Dutch football history by becoming the Netherlands' all-time leading goalscorer.
The forward opened the scoring during the Netherlands' World Cup qualifier against Lithuania in Kaunas and surpassed Robin van Persie's total of 50 international goals.
Depay had matched Van Persie's total in June as he netted a brace during an 8-0 win over Malta in Groningen.
The 31-year-old, who's represented the likes of Manchester United, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid during his career, now heads an esteemed list of Dutch greats in the goalscoring charts.
Behind Depay and Van Persie is Klaas-Jan Huntelaar in third with 42 goals, followed by Patrick Kluivert on 40. Arjen Robben and Dennis Bergkamp are joint-fifth, who totalled 37 strikes for the Netherlands.
Depay made his international debut against Turkey in October 2013 and scored his first goal for the Oranje against Australia at the 2014 World Cup, becoming the Netherlands' youngest ever goalscorer at the tournament at the age of 20.
He only netted three goals in his first 26 international appearances, of which two were at the 2014 World Cup, but would enjoy a prolific run under Ronald Koeman which saw him net 16 goals in 25 matches.
Depay recorded his first international hat-trick in a 6–1 World Cup qualifying win over Turkey on 7 September 2021.
2021 was Depay's most productive year for the Oranje, netting 17 goals in 16 appearances.
