Liverpool have suffered a massive blow as striker Hugo Ekitike was stretchered off after just 30 minutes against Paris Saint-Germain at Anfield.
After a fiercely competitive start to the second leg of this UEFA Champions League tie, the hosts may have had their chances of overturning a two-goal deficit reduced after the France international was replaced.
Worryingly, there was nobody near Hugo Ekitike as he appeared to damage his ankle and was then seen pointing towards his Achilles.
The 23-year-old attempted to get back up but seemed in real pain as he fell back to the floor.
Following a lengthy delay, Ekitike was then carried off on a stretcher and replaced by Mohamed Salah, who once again had been named on the bench by Liverpool manager Arne Slot.
Ahead of the game, Slot had selected British record signing Alexander Isak to start a game for the first time since his return from injury but did admit pre-match that he wouldn't be able to play much more than 45 minutes.
