Manny Pacquiao's son Jimuel set to make professional debut

Manny Pacquiao's son will look to follow in his father's footsteps when he make his professional boxing debut on Saturday night.

Emmanuel 'Jimuel' Pacquiao Jr is set to make his professional bow in a four-round bout as part of his father's Pacquiao Promotions event in Temecula, California, USA on Saturday night.

His opponent in the lightweight bout is set to be fellow debutant and former collegiate boxer Brendan Lally.

Pacquiao Jr has an amateur record of six wins and four losses and most recently defeated Patrick Reyes via a three-round unanimous decision back in April.

"I've been wanting to [go professional] for a while," Pacquiao Jr told Fight Hub TV.

"I have a really good team and they always make sure that I'm ready. We didn't want to rush anything and they think now is the perfect time."

Jimuel is the oldest of the five children with his wife Jinkee Pacquiao. He was born in February 2001 during his father's time as WBC super bantamweight champion.

Asked what his dad thinks of his move into the pro ranks Jimuel revealed what advice he has received.

"I was with my dad yesterday and he won't stop giving me pointers on what to do," he added.

"So I can tell they are nervous but I'll show them that I'm ready and that I'll get the win."
