Manchester City 2026/27 Premier League title odds following Enzo Maresca appointment

Manchester City have confirmed the appointment of former Leicester City and Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca.

The announcement comes a surprise to few, with reports breaking as early as December 2025 that the Italian was high amongst the club's list of candidates in the event that Pep Guardiola departed at the end of the 2025/26 campaign.

While Maresca is renowned for his efforts with the Foxes, guiding the club back to the top-flight in the 2023/24 Championship season, and Chelsea, winning the FIFA Club World Cup and Conference League in his 18-month spell with the West London outfit, he has got history with Man City.

He won the Premier League 2 title in his only season in charge of the Man City Elite Development Squad in 2020/21, before returning to the club as one of Guardiola's assistant managers following a failed spell at Parma.

The Catalan manager, who departed the Manchester outfit with a remarkable 20 major trophies in 10 years, reportedly influenced the board's decision to appoint Maresca, viewing the 46-year-old as the ideal candidate to succeed him at the Etihad.

After failing to win the Premier League on back-to-back occasions, Maresca will no doubt be desperate to add an 11th league title to the club's growing list of honours.

Premier League

Man City are priced at 11/4 to win the 2026/27 Premier League title after falling seven points short of Arsenal last time out.

There was an overarching sense that, after three near misses, Mikel Arteta's well-oiled outfit would end the club's 22-year wait for top-flight success, but Guardiola's team were determined to make it hard for them.

A 2-1 victory for Man City over Arsenal in April prompted suggestions that Arsenal were set to lose their lead at the top, but the North London outfit closed the season with five consecutive wins to get over the line and lift the title at Selhurst Park.

Man City won the league in six of seven campaigns between 2017/18 and 2023/24, and so to go two seasons without a league title will no doubt disappoint supporters, who have become so accustomed to winning.

Marseca has won three trophies in just two full seasons in his short managerial career, and there'll be an expectation to deliver silverware from the offset after Guardiola signed off with FA Cup and EFL Cup triumphs.
