Luke Humphries produces stunning comeback to win World Grand Prix

Luke Humphries launched a sensational fightback to beat Gerwyn Price 6-4 and win the 2026 World Grand Prix title.

Humphries found himself three sets to nil down following a scintillating start to the World Grand Prix final from the Welshman.

Price had produced a record average of 132.62 in the opening set with a 10-darter and two 12-darters.

But Humphries stood firm in the face of adversity and as he was starting to stare down the barrel, he won four sets in a row to take a 4-3 lead.

Price levelled proceedings at four sets apiece before Humphries won a crucial ninth set against the throw.

Humphries stayed strong to win the following set and wrap up a magnificent 6-4 victory.

Humphries was playing in an unprecedented fourth successive World Grand Prix final and the victory sees him bounce back from defeats in each of the last two years.

The former world champion has now become just the fourth player after Phil Taylor, Michael van Gerwen and James Wade to win the event more than once.

Humphries has endured a difficult time in major finals in recent times after losing four times to Luke Littler, as well as suffering defeat to Gian van Veen at last year's European Championship.

His second World Grand Prix title sees him win a PDC major for the first time since he lifted the 2025 Premier League trophy.

As for Price, his four-year wait for a PDC major goes on and he will know that this year's World Grand Prix is one that shouldn't have got away from him.
