Gerywn Price failed to end a four-year PDC major trophy drought as he lost 6-4 to Luke Humphries in the World Grand Prix final.
The Iceman had taken a three-nil lead in the 2026 World Grand Prix final in Leicester, before Humphries launched a seismic fightback to deny him the trophy.
Price won the tournament back in 2020 as he defeated debutant Dirk van Duijvenbode 5-2, but he has since lost in three World Grand Prix finals.
When did Gerwyn Price last win a major?
Price has been the nearly man for the last four years when it comes to majors.
He has picked up his fair share of titles elsewhere on the tour, but TV majors have proved elusive.
Price's last victory in a PDC major was when he captured the 2022 World Series of Darts Finals trophy against Dirk van Duijvenbode.
Since then, he has suffered final defeats on five separate occasions.
