Young singles enter the villa in hopes of finding 'the one', although not every islander gets their happily ever after. In preparation for the new All Stars series returning, we take a look at the biggest breakups in Love Island UK history.
Inside the villa
Anna Vakili and Jordan Hames
In series 5, Anna Vakili and Jordan Hames famously broke up on the show during a famous moment now referred to as 'Storm Anna'.
The relationship was strong and led to Jordan asking Anna to be his girlfriend before a fiery argument led them to call the relationship quits.
The controversy began when Jordan sparked interest in bombshell India Reynolds only two days after the pair became official resulting in a dramatic dumping.
Amy Hart and Curtis Pritchard
Amy Hart and Curtis Pritchard coupled up on day 1 on series 5 with a reputation of 'Mum and Dad' within the villa.
That was all until Casa Amor struck and Curtis turned his head for Jourdan Riane.
During the recoupling, Curtis had not choice but to recouple with Amy after being rejected by Jourdan leading to an uncomfortable conversation between the pair.
This moment included famous moments in Love Island history such as: "I was coming here to tell you I love you" and the "Coffee" incident.
The breakup led to Amy deciding her journey was over as she left the villa heartbroken.
Malin Andersson and Terry Walsh
During series 2, drama surrounded Malin Andersson and Terry Walsh during their chaotic relationship.
The pair experienced their share of turbulent drama with such arguments about cutting toasties and wearing T-shirts.
On day 25, Malin was dumped by her fellow islanders in an emotional episode leaving Terry single.
To the surprise of viewers and islanders, Terry moved on almost instantly as he romantically coupled up with new bombshell Emma Woodhams.
To make the breakup even worse, producers brought Malin back into the villa to confront Terry for his behavior creating one of the most awkward Love Island breakups in history!
Amber Gill and Michael Griffiths
Another breakup as a result of Casa Amor!
After starting off strong, Michael Griffiths couldn't resist his head being turned for Casa bombshell Joanna Chimonides, leaving Amber Gill single in a shocking reunion.
After Joanna was later dumped, Michael attempted to reconcile with Amber which was rejected due to her being in a couple with Greg O'Shea.
Amber and Michael ended the show as friends before Amber successfully won Love Island series 5 with her new partner.
Outside the villa
Chloe Burrows and Toby Aromolaran
During series 7, Chloe Burrows and Toby Aromolaran experienced a whirlwind romance while on the show ending as an official couple.
After coming in second place, the couple stayed together for a year until breaking up in October 2022.
Toby has returned to Love Island appearing in Love Island Games Series 1 & 2 and Love Island All Stars series 1 in hopes to win.
Molly Smith and Callum Jones
A successful Casa Amor story, Molly Smith and Callum Jones shared three years together before sadly ending in 2023.
It was reported the couple broke up due to Molly wanting to get engaged while Callum was not quite ready,
The couple were awkwardly reunited in Love Island All Stars series 1, as they both appeared as bombshells during the debut episode.
Since then, Molly went on to win Love Island All Stars with Tom Clare who are due to be married in 2026.
Amber Gill and Greg O'Shea
Another emotional breakup for Amber Gill despite winning Love Island series 5 with Greg O'Shea.
After splitting the 50k cash prize, the couple struggled to remain together and ended less than five weeks later.
The reason for the split was never clearly shared as the pair had mixed accounts of their break up.
Amber reported that she was dumped on text while Greg argued it was an amicable decision.
Harriett Blackmore and Ronnie Vint
The most recent breakup on the list comes from series 11 as Harriet Blackmore and Ronnie Vint ended their relationship.
During their first Love Island appearance, the couple experienced a hot and cold relationship with love triangles from start to end leading to them being dumped by the public.
The couple broke up before reuniting on Love Island All Stars series 2 where they rekindled their relationship.
The pair struggled to maintain their relationship on the outside and therefore split in 2025 for the second time.
