Leicester City midfielder Harry Winks is reportedly set to depart for a move to Serie A side Cagliari.
Winks joined Leicester from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2023 for a fee of £10 million.
The former England international played an integral part of a team which won promotion from the Championship in the 2023/24 season.
However, the last two seasons have not gone to plan for either the club or the player.
Leicester have suffered back-to-back relegations and Winks has had public spats with both managers and fans during a dismal period at the club.
He has made 109 appearances for the club but relegation to the third-tier capped a remarkable fall from grace for a player who represented England just six years ago.
His time at the King Power Stadium is set to come to an end after TalkSPORT reported that Serie A outfit Cagliari are closing in on a deal.
Winks has one year left on a contract that is worth a reported £90,000 per week.
The club are keen to get him off their wage bill and reinvest the money wisely as they plot an immediate return to the Championship.
The 30-year-old midfielder has previous experience of playing in Italy after making 20 appearances on loan at Sampdoria during the 2022/23 campaign.
