Leeds United have reportedly reignited their interest in signing Maccabi Tel Aviv midfielder Issouf Sissokho.
Daniel Farke's side are said to have been keeping tabs on Sissokho for several seasons, with the 24-year-old impressing scouts with his performances in the Europa League.
Though the club ultimately opted against making an official bid in the summer, reports suggest that Leeds are ready to make an approach when the transfer window reopens in January.
Sissokho's current deal with Maccabi Tel Aviv is set to expire at the end of the current campaign, and while the club retain an option to extend for an additional twelve months, they could look to cash in amid interest from the Premier League.
According to Football Insider, Leeds are monitoring developments surrounding Sissokho closely and could to make an approach in January as Farke looks to bolster his options in the centre of the pitch.
Sissokho is also said to be keen on a move to the Premier League, with the club continuing to go from strength to strength after avoiding relegation on their return to the top flight last season.
However, the Yorkshire side are not the only club reportedly chasing the Mali youth international.
Separate reports suggest that both La Liga side Levante and Braga of the Portuguese top flight are among several teams interested in signing the industrious defensive midfielder.
The former are said to have made an offer worth around £2million for his services, and have made contact with the player's representatives over a potential move.
A product of the Bordeaux academy, Sissokho made 65 senior appearances for Les Girondins in all competitions before moving to the Israeli Premier League in the summer of 2024.
Since joining Maccabi Tel Aviv Sissokho has established himself as one of the most highly-rated players in the division and won a league title in his first season at the Bloomfield Stadium.
Maccabi Tel Aviv are currently managed by former Scotland international Kenny Miller and failed to qualify for the UEFA Conference League after losing on aggregate in a play-off to Swiss side FC Lugano.
