Leeds United and Bournemouth are leading the chase to secure the signing of Manchester City defender Nathan Ake this summer.
Ake joined Manchester City from Bournemouth on a five-year deal in the summer of 2020 for a fee of £41 million.
He quickly became a key part of Pep Guardiola's squad and he played his part in the club securing four consecutive Premier League titles as well as the UEFA Champions League in 2023.
The 31-year-old, who is equally adept when playing as a centre-back or left-back, has also been included in Ronald Koeman's 26-man Netherlands squad for this summer's World Cup.
TEAMtalk have reported that the Citizens are prepared to let Ake leave this summer after making 177 appearances for the club during six seasons at the Etihad Stadium.
Bournemouth have emerged as a leading contender to re-sign Ake due to expectation that Marcos Senesi will be moving on to Tottenham Hotspur.
Ake spent four seasons on the south coast with Bournemouth following his move from Chelsea and he developed into one of the best defenders in Europe prior to Man City splashing the cash to secure his signature.
Ake has a year left on his current contract and his availability has alerted Leeds United, who are keen to progress after securing their Premier League survival last season.
Manager Daniel Farke has made no secret of his ambitions at the club and the capture of the four-time title winner would be a seen as a statement of intent by the club's owners.
Everton and Crystal Palace have also been mentioned as potential destinations for Ake this summer, with the latter still looking to find a long-term replacement for Marc Guehi.
Incidentally, the arrival of Guehi in Manchester has pushed Ake further down the pecking order and could open the door for Palace in the summer transfer window.
