The purse for the 2025 League of Legends World Championships is set at $5,000,000, more than double the $2.225m that was shared in 2024.
The teams that will compete in the 2025 League of Legends World Championship are as follows:
T1 and Invictus Gaming will face each other in the play-in stage in Beijing. The winner will then progress to the Swiss Stage, where they will be joined by the remaining 15 teams.
As aforementioned, two teams will play each other in a best-of-five match in the play-in stage for a place in the Swiss Stage.
The Swiss Stage is then competed by 16 teams, where the first eight teams to pick up three wins will progress to the knockouts.
The knockouts are expected to be a best-of-five format, and will operate as normal with quarter finals, semi finals and culminating in a final.
The 2025 Championships is also the first to adopt a 'Fearless Draft' format, where champions that have been played by either team become unavailable for the remainder of the series. It will be used for all best-of-three and best-of-five series throughout the competition.
