Both Karolina Muchova and Coco Gauff are bidding to make their first Wimbledon final and it could be a gruelling battle to the finishing line.
Muchova had twice lost in the Wimbledon quarter-final but she made it third time lucky with her 7-6 6-4 victory over Naomi Osaka and she is dreaming of making her second Grand Slam final having finished runner-up to Iga Swiatek at the 2023 French Open.
Gauff is a two-time Grand Slam champion, having won the 2023 US Open and last season’s French Open, and things have finally clicked for her on the grass.
The American had never made it past the fourth round of Wimbledon but she has found her best form at the perfect time this year.
The 22-year-old has battled to three-set victories over Solana Sierra, Claire Liu, Belinda Bencic and Jessica Pegula in her last four assignments at the All England Club, showing her strong mentality and excellent well-being.
Muchova has dropped only one set on her way to the semi-final, which came in her fourth-round clash with fellow Czech player Barbora Krejcikova, but she has lost six of her seven meetings with Gauff.
Best Bet - Three sets @ 11/10
Alternative Bet - Coco Gauff to win 2-1 @ 10/3
Bet Builder - Over 22.5 games, 5+ aces for Coco Gauff & 5+ double faults for Coco Gauff @ 12/5
Best Bet: Three sets @ 11/10
Having warmed-up for Wimbledon with a title triumph in Bad Homburg, Muchova comes into this semi-final clash with Gauff full of confidence and on a nine-match winning streak.
Muchova has dropped only one set on her way to the last four and she did win their last rivalry, edging to a 6-3 5-7 6-3 success in the quarter-final in Stuttgart in April.
However, Gauff won their first six meetings and her never say die attitude makes her a difficult player to beat.
The American 22-year-old may not be at her brilliant best but she continues to find a way having won her last four Wimbledon assignments in a deciding set.
Three-set victories over Bencic and Pegula read especially well and, with six of her last seven matches going the distance, this clash could follow in a similar vein.
Alternative Bet: Coco Gauff to win 2-1 @ 10/3
This could be an epic with Muchova in the form of her life and Gauff displaying a resilience that very few on the WTA Tour have.
Gauff has looked beaten a number of times in this tournament but she has shown why she is considered one of the strongest players in the women’s game with three-set wins in her last four matches.
Gauff battled back from a set down against both Bencic and Pegula, two players seeded 11th or higher, and it may be a similar scenario against Muchova.
Gauff leads her personal series with Muchova 6-1 and can grind out a victory to make her fourth Grand Slam final and first at Wimbledon.
Over 22.5 games
5+ aces for Coco Gauff
5+ double faults for Coco Gauff
Pays 12/5
Gauff’s last four matches have all gone to a deciding set while Muchova needed three sets to see off Krejcikova in the fourth round and had a battle with Osaka in the quarter-final, winning 7-6 6-4.
This could be a topsy-turvy encounter and there should be 23 or more games, especially with three sets looking likely.
Gauff will need her serve to hold up, however, and in her quarter-final win over Pegula she had seven aces and seven double faults.
Under relentless pressure given the size of the occasion, expect more of the same.
