One of the biggest races in the world of motorsport, the 2026 Indy 500 is set to take place this Sunday.
Traditionally held over Memorial Day weekend, the event has been held annually for over a century and was first staged in 1911.
This year 33 drivers will take to the track at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Speedway, Indiana with the biggest prize in the race's history set to be up for grabs.
While it is yet to be confirmed, reports suggest the total prize pool will more than $22,000,000 dollars, with the winner taking home a share of more than $4million.
Alex Palou is the favourite to retain his title this weekend, with the 29-year-old 5/2 to emerge victorious.
Palou is a four-time IndyCar Series champion and became the first Spaniard to win the Indianapolis 500 when he claimed the win for Chip Ganassi Racing.
He will also start the race on Sunday in pole position for a second successive year and could become just the seventh driver to claim back-to-back wins if he can repeat his success.
Alex Palou - 5/2
Pato O'Ward - 13/2
David Malukas - 13/2
Conor Daly - 8/1
Alexander Rossi - 8/1
