Filip Hrgovic has revealed that he could be set to face Moses Itauma if he is able to defeat Dave Allen next month.
A former world title challenger, Hrgovic is coming off back-to-back wins over Joe Joyce and David Adeleye and will make his first outing of 2026 when he faces the popular British heavyweight Allen in Doncaster.
Hrgovic is a heavyweight favourite against the White Rhino and in a recent interview explained that he has already held talks about who he would like to fight next should he get his hand raised on 16 May.
One name that Hrgovic would love to test his skills against is the heavyweight super prospect Itauma, and he explained that the 21-year-old is one of several potential future opponents in his contract.
“I'll fight him anytime,” Hrgovic told BoxingScene. “He's in my contract as one of the names for the next fight, if this goes well. So maybe I'll fight him later in the year, but we'll see, I'll fight him, definitely.
Last weekend Itauma improved his professional record to 14-0, scoring a fifth-round KO of American Jermaine Franklin to cap off a dominant performance at the Co-op Live arena in Manchester.
In doing so he became the first fighter to stop Franklin - who had previously been to decisions with both Dillian Whyte and Anthony Joshua - inside the distance.
However, Hrgovic dismissed Franklin and insisted that the fight offered little in terms of how Itauma would fare against the very best in boxing's glamour division.
"Good [performance], but Franklin was in bad shape and he didn't fight back," he continued.
"I think Moses, he's got good skills, but he was never in trouble, so I think we still don't know how good he is. I think you can't build a chin, you can't build a character, you can't build a spirit, you have it or you don't have it.
"We'll see if he is a real warrior when he gets hit, when he gets dropped, we'll see if he's a real deal or not, but he definitely has skills. I think he’s never received a punch in his whole career, he never fought a guy who fought back, so we'll see how his endurance is, how his chin is.
"I think I can definitely give him a hard fight. So we'll see, maybe he's the next great, like the next Lennox Lewis or something, but maybe he's the next Jared Anderson."
