Find out how much Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje are in line to earn from their lightweight title showdown in the UFC Freedom 250 main event.
While no official figures have been released, it is expected that both Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje will walk away with a career-best payday from their UFC Freedom 250 showdown.
Sunday's landmark event marks a significant moment for the UFC, with a full venue constructed on the South Lawn of the White House to celebrate 250 years of American independence and US President Donald Trump's 80th birthday.
In the lead up to Sunday night Dana White revealed that the event is expected to cost upwards of $60million (£45m), of which they expect to recoup only half - with the full cost set to be footed by the promotion.
A number of significant bonuses will also be on offer at the White House, with White announcing this week that remuneration from the traditional bonuses will be much larger thanks to the backing of a new sponsor.
The two Performance of the Night winners for the event will walk away with $425,000 (£318,000), while the two fighters who earn Fight of the Night will take home an additional $400,000 (£300,000).
That means that a fighter who manages to take home both a Performance of the Night and Fight of the Night bonus will add an eye-watering $725,000 (£618,000) onto their purse.
Ilia Topuria has quickly become one of the biggest stars in the UFC since making his Octagon debut back in October 2020.
The Matador is one of just 11 fighters in UFC history to have won world titles in two weight classes, and will make the first defence of his lightweight belt when he faces Justin Gaethje on Sunday night.
In the US some athletic commissions such as California will publicly disclose fighter payouts post-fight.
The last time Topuria's pay was publicly revealed was for his featherweight title showdown with Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 298 where his reported pay was $350,000.
However, these figures do not always take into account additional so-called 'locker room bonuses'.
With Topuria now the defending champion it is expected he will take home the best purse of his career to date this weekend, at an estimated $3.5million (£2.6m) base, not including any sponsorships or bonuses.
One of the most exciting fighters ever to grace the Octagon, Justin Gaethje has truly earned the nickname 'The Highlight' during his career.
In his 15 UFC fights Gaethje has picked up 15 post-fight bonuses, putting him seventh in the all-time UFC ranking.
For his instant classic showdown with Max Holloway at UFC 300 Gaethje picked up a record $300,000 Fight of the Night bonus.
His last publicly disclosed payout came all the way back in 2020 when he defeated Tony Ferguson for the interim lightweight championship.
On that night he earned a base of $350,000, and it is expected that he will walk away with a significant bump in pay this weekend.
While the payouts for the White House card are not expected to be disclosed, Gaethje is expected to earn in excess of $2million (£1.5m) for his lightweight title showdown with Topuria.
