Hull City look to continue their remarkable start to the season when playing host to Aston Villa on Saturday evening.
The Tigers pulled off a remarkable 2-0 win over Manchester United on the opening weekend of the Premier League season and followed that up with a crucial win over fellow newly promoted side Coventry City.
Aston Villa meanwhile and pointless and goalless so far in 2026/27 after the 4-0 thrashing against Brighton and the tame 1-0 defeat to Arsenal in which they failed to register a shot on target.
The Magpies surpassed expectations against Liverpool in their Premier League opener and were unlucky not to take all three points, conceding a last-minute penalty to draw 2-2.
On the Football Betting Club podcast, Mark Stinchcombe, Nathan Joyes and Gavin Horsfall each put a selection forward to make up a Bet Builder for Saturday evening's game.
Leg 1: Under 2.5 goals @ 10/11
Mark said: "The market can't split whether there's going to be three goals or less and I'm happy to lean on the unders.
"Hull have done well to keep things tight in both games with 2-0 and 1-0 wins. They've only had 32% and 28% possession in those games so they're playing to their strengths.
"I don't think there's any surprise to see Villa not clicking going forward yet given the huge changes. Yet to score, they're yet to have a shot on target and have an xG of just 0.62 so I think Hull will look at this game and think they can get something out of it, but that starts with the foundation of keeping things tight, so I think a low-scoring game is on the cards for Saturday evening.
Leg 2: Hull or draw double chance @ 10/11
Nathan said: "It's hard to get a complete hold on Hull and I think they will drop off, but it's how disorganised Villa are at the moment and could I back Villa at odds-on? The answer was no which led me towards Hull double chance. I think a single goal will sort this one out and I think you have to back the side where everything is falling their way. When your luck's in, maybe we ride that train for one more week.
Leg 3: Boubacar Kamara 2+ fouls @ 11/8
Gavin said: "My bet ties into the game state you two were talking about. Having seen Hull last week, they're going to absorb as much as they can, try and hit Villa on the break and Villa will be particularly conscious of that.
"I like Boubacar Kamara here, he hits the 2+ foul line 100% of the time he sees out the 90 minutes, which sounds obvious -- the longer you play, the more likely you are to commit a foul -- across the last 12 games, there's a good propensity he's going to be sitting at the base of that midfield. If you're coming up against a Hull side that break quickly, a couple of tactical fouls could be on his list here."
