Roger Federer will play at Flushing Meadows for the first time since 2019 as the former World No 1 prepares to feature in an exhibition ahead of the US Open.
The last time the five-time US Open winner appeared at the Arthur Ashe Stadium as a player he was beaten by Grigor Dimitrov at the quarter-final stage seven years ago.
After later announcing his retirement due to a knee injury, Federer said he regretted not being able to give a proper farewell to the New York crowd and will step onto the court in an exhibition this week.
The 45-year-old is set to play one set of singles against Andy Roddick before teaming up with John McEnroe to face Roddick and Andre Agassi in doubles.
