The 2026 World Cup finally gets underway this evening as co-hosts Mexico take on South Africa in Mexico City.
Mexico are the odds-on favourites to progress as group winners from Group A, while South Africa start as the outsiders.
Javier Aguirre's side are expected to go far this summer after failing to make it through their group in Qatar four years ago.
The match is a repeat of the opening fixture of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, where Mexico rescued a draw after Siphiwe Tshabalala's memorable opener for Bafana Bafana.
South Korea take on Czech Republic in the other opening Group A fixture in the early hours of the morning and Mexico or South Africa have the chance to seize an early advantage in their quest to reach the knockout stages.
Mexico v South Africa will be available to watch live in the UK on ITV 1 and STV.
Eligible customers in the UK, Ireland, Greece, Netherlands and Australia will also be able to bet on and watch the World Cup at bet365.
Mexico v South Africa will be played at the Estadio Azteca in Coyoacán, Mexico City and kick-off is at 20:00 BST on Thursday 11th June.
