Rasmus Hojlund's move to Napoli from Manchester United could be made permanent on Monday depending on results in Serie A.
The 23-year-old arrived in Naples this summer on a season-long loan deal which included a £6million fee after he struggled to make an impact across two seasons at Old Trafford.
Hojlund's success in the Italian top flight with Atlanta had led United to pay £76million for the young striker, and he has returned to form in Serie A - netting 14 goals in 41 appearances in all competitions for Gli Azzurri.
A clause in the loan meant that Napoli would have an obligation to sign Hojlund for £34million if they secured qualification for the UEFA Champions League this season.
While the club have been unable to secure a second successive league title, they will be guaranteed a place in Europe's premier club competition if Roma lose to Parma on Sunday and they get a result against Bologna the following day.
Hojlund has clearly made a positive impression with Antonio Conte's side, and Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna has insisted that the club will be signing him regardless of their final finishing position.
"There are no doubts. Rasmus will stay here."

"We have an obligation to buy from Manchester United, in case of Champions League access, but he is in our plans regardless of this condition."
The move will ensure United avoid a loss on the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules, and will free up funds as they look to strengthen their attacking options in the summer.
United have enjoyed an impressive second half to the campaign since Michael Carrick replaced Ruben Amorim in January, and the club have secured a UEFA Champions League place for next season after missing out on Europe entirely last term.
One player who has found himself on the fringes since Carrick took interim charge of the club for a second time is Joshua Zirkzee.
Like Hojlund, the Dutchman has failed to deliver on the promise he displayed in Italy that led United to bring him to Old Trafford.
Zirkee has played just 259 minutes of Premier League football this season and his last start came in the 1-1 draw with Wolves late last year - Amorim's penultimate game in charge.
Napoli are among several clubs said to be keeping tabs on the former Bayern Munich man, though his significant wage packet could reportedly prove to be an obstacle in any potential move.
