Cristian Romero was sent off in the 29th minute of Tottenham Hotspur's Premier League clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford.
The Tottenham captain picked up his second red card of the Premier League season when needlessly following through on a challenge and catching Casemiro with his studs.
The defender's first red card of the season came in his side's 2-1 defeat to reigning top flight champions Liverpool in December, given a second yellow card for lashing out at French centre back Ibrahima Konate.
Romero is renowned for his aggressive and often uncompromising approach to defending, and this has landed him in trouble on a number of occasions since joining the North London outfit.
The Argentine's red card at Old Trafford marked the sixth time that Romero has been dismissed in his Tottenham career.
Of Romero's six red cards in a Spurs shirt, four have been for receiving two yellow cards in the game, while he has been shown a straight red on two occasions.
Four dismissals have come in the Premier League, one in the UEFA Champions League and one in the UEFA Conference League.
