They have come close on two occasions in recent years, however. In the 2017/18 National League campaign, they advanced to the play-off final, defeating AFC Fylde and Sutton United along the way, where they fell to a 2-1 defeat against Tranmere Rovers.

Just shy of five years later, a sixth placed finish in the National League saw them qualify for the play-offs eliminators.

While they did overcome Barnet to reach the final four, they conceded a 120th-minute winner to Notts County in a 3-2 semi-final defeat to deny them a place at Wembley.
