The PGA Tour heads to Fort Worth, Texas, for this week's Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club and a strong field has assembled for this trip to the Lone Star State.
This tournament is the longest-running PGA Tour event, excluding Majors, to be held at the same venue since its inception back in 1946, when a certain Ben Hogan claimed a one-shot victory.
Colonial is a narrow, tree-lined course with no less than 12 dog-legged holes and small greens, with strategically placed fairway bunkers and plenty of water increasing the difficulty.
Sweden's Ludvig Aberg makes his Charles Schwab debut and he has been installed as the 9/1 favourite, ahead of 16/1 Russell Henley and the 20/1 pair of Justin Thomas and defending champion Ben Griffin.
Best Bet - Karl Vilips to win and each-way @ 150/1
Alternative Bet - Christiaan Bezuidenhout to win and each-way @ 60/1
Alternative Bet - Harry Hall to win and each-way @ 40/1
Best Bet: Karl Vilips to win and each-way @ 150/1
Recent editions of the Charles Schwab have provided some big-priced winners and the 150/1 available on Karl Vilips, who broke his PGA Tour duck at the 2025 Puerto Rico Open, is hard to ignore.
The Australian has struggled to kick on from that maiden victory, but there have been some positive spots during the 2026 season with top-20 finishes at the American Express and Houston Open.
A tie for 24th place at the Myrtle Beach Classic two starts ago was another promising performance and there could be more to come from the 24-year-old, who shared 11th position on his Charles Schwab debut 12 months ago.
One of the key metrics to success at this course has been putting and Vilips has excelled on the greens, ranking 10th in strokes gained putting and sixth in total putting.
If the talented Aussie can have a good week from tee to green, then he looks to have every chance of contending for his second title at this level.
Alternative Bet: Christiaan Bezuidenhout to win and each-way @ 60/1
Sticking with the theme of a strong putter and the second selection goes to Christiaan Bezuidenhout, who is fourth in total putting, sixth in strokes gained putting and 10th in putting average.
The South African wields the flat stick with authority, and that club has helped him to a couple of solid finishes this year, a tied-eighth in Puerto Rico and a share of sixth at Myrtle Beach.
After missing the cut on his Colonial debut in 2020, Bezuidenhout has since racked up results of 15th, 21st, 17th and 16th over the last four years and he clearly enjoys this course.
Like Vilips, a solid week from tee to green should see the three-time DP World Tour winner in the mix for his PGA Tour breakthrough come Sunday.
Alternative Bet: Harry Hall to win and each-way @ 40/1
It has been nearly two years since Harry Hall won for the first time on the PGA Tour, at the 2024 ISCO Championship, but his failure to return to the winner's circle should not be looked down on.
The Englishman recorded five top-tens and 15 top-25 finishes on the US circuit in 2025 and he is enjoying another solid year, with three top-10s and five top-25s on his CV.
Two of those top-10s came in Signature Events, at the Arnold Palmer and Truist Championship, and he clearly has the quality to compete with the very best in the business.
Hall is another competent player with the putter, evidenced by his position of third in strokes gained in that department last year, and he is rolling the rock well this season as he sits 25th in overall putting average.
With a third-placed finish on his Colonial debut in 2023 and a sixth-placed effort last year, the 28-year-old has a warm affinity for this venue and he could get in the mix once again.
This will be the 80th edition of the Charles Schwab Challenge.
Colonial Country Club has staged this tournament since its inception in 1946.
Ben Griffin won by one shot last year when finishing on -12.
Daniel Berger's total of -15 in 2020 is the best winning score in the last seven editions.
A play-off has been required in three of the last six runnings.
Ben Hogan is the record five-time winner of this event.
