After last week's Signature Event, The Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village, the PGA Tour action heads to Ontario for the 115th edition of the Canadian Open.
First staged back in 1904 when Jack Oke triumphed at Royal Montreal, this is the third oldest national open and is being played the week before the 2026 US Open at Shinnecock Hills.
A number of the leading players in the world have opted to skip this trip to TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley, which hosts for the second year in a row, due to a combination of the upcoming Major and the marathon Sunday at Muirfield.
The weather-affected tournament at the Jack Nicklaus-designed course resulted in several players having to complete 31 holes on the final day to ensure the event finished on time.
Still, Matt Fitzpatrick, Sam Burns and Tommy Fleetwood will all be in attendance in Canada, along with the likes of Collin Morikawa, Wyndham Clark and Brooks Koepka.
New Zealand's Ryan Fox claimed the spoils last year, overcoming Burns in a play-off, and the defending champion is 50/1 to become the first player to successfully retain the title since Rory McIlroy in 2022.
Best Bet - Matt Fitzpatrick to win and each-way @ 12/1
Alternative Bet - Brooks Koepka to win and each-way @ 25/1
Alternative Bet - Nicolai Hojgaard to win and each-way @ 28/1
Best Bet: Matt Fitzpatrick to win and each-way @ 12/1
Although Fitzpatrick had an increased workload on Sunday at Muirfield, the tournament was still completed as scheduled and there should be no worries about fatigue heading into the Canadian Open.
While other players opt not to play the week before a Major, the Englishman goes the other way and he teed it up at the 2022 Canadian Open, where he finished tied 10th, before then winning the US Open at The Country Club in Massachusetts.
The 31-year-old will be making his debut on the North Course but he has been ranking strongly in the departments which were key to Fox's success last year - strokes gained tee to green and approach.
Foxes was second and sixth in these two areas, so it bodes well that Fitzpatrick ranks third and fifth on the PGA Tour this season and he could be set for a strong performance.
The Sheffield-born star has already won two individual titles this year, at the Valspar Championship and RBC Heritage, while he also partnered brother Alex to success at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
Another victory would act as perfect preparation heading into the US Open.
Alternative Bet: Brooks Koepka to win and each-way @ 25/1
Brooks Koepka has recorded three top-15 finishes from his last four starts and he does not look far away from landing his first title on the US circuit since the 2023 PGA Championship.
Of course, the American returned to the PGA Tour this year, ending his time with LIV, and he has put in some solid showing with a tie for 12th at the Masters a particular highlight.
The 36-year-old has had a couple of weeks away from the course, having decided to miss the Charles Schwab Challenge which then resulted in him failing to qualify for The Memorial Tournament.
Refreshed and eager to fine-tune his game ahead of a tilt at a third US Open win, Koepka is sixth in strokes gained tee to green and fourth in approach, which suggests he could thrive at TPC Toronto.
Alternative Bet: Nicolai Hojgaard to win and each-way @ 28/1
Nicolai Hojgaard will be heading to Shinnecock next week and he will be eager to build some momentum, following a tied-44th effort at the PGA Championship and a missed cut at The Memorial.
Before those two results the Dane finished tied second at the Truist Championship, his second runner-up result of the season after his near-miss at the Houston Open.
The 25-year-old, who also shared third at the Phoenix Open, failed to make the weekend at TPC Toronto last year, but he was in a dreadful run of form during that period and there is more positivity heading into the 2026 edition.
Ranking 14th in strokes gained tee to green and 18th in approach, Hojgaard's long game has been in fine fettle and if he can exact any improvement from the putter, he could get himself into contention for a maiden PGA title.
