Bermuda Championship Prediction and Tips

After a week off the PGA Tour returns with the fourth event of the FedEx Cup Fall Series, the Bermuda Championship, and it promises to be an enthralling battle for the win at Port Royal Golf Course.

With this venue situated on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, the wind has a huge bearing on how difficult the scoring conditions are and it is worth keeping an eye on the forecast for any potential draw bias.

Adam Schenk finished on -12 to claim the spoils last year, beating fellow American Chandler Phillips by one shot, and the reigning champion is 150/1 to become the first multiple winner of this tournament.

Benjamin James has been installed as the 10/1 favourite, ahead of Chris Kirk, Corey Conners, Eric Cole and Kevin Roy, who are all priced at 22/1.

Bermuda Championship Prediction

Best Bet: Denny McCarthy to win and each-way @ 28/1

A first PGA Tour title still evades Denny McCarthy but he may finally enter the winner's circle this week on his first appearance in Bermuda since the 2022 edition.

The American has had four cracks at this tournament, posting form figures of 15-4-39-6, and if he is anywhere close to his best, he should contend in a field missing a plethora of the world's best players.

A solid short game and a hot putter have proven key at this course over the seven previous editions and McCarthy is a dab hand in both departments, as he ranks 10th in strokes gained putting and 21st in scrambling.

Having missed the cuts in the first two FedEx Cup Fall Series events, McCarthy improved when tied 29th at the Baycurrent Classic and he looks capable of putting in a serious challenge for glory in Bermuda.

Alternative Bet: Seamus Power to win and each-way @ 28/1

Another player who enjoys the Bermuda surroundings is Seamus Power, who went 31st, 37th and 12th in his first three outings at Port Royal before claiming the spoils in 2022.

The Irishman held off Thomas Detry by a stroke four years ago and the former champion's return visits have heralded positive results, with a 23rd-place in 2024 followed by 11th position last year.

Power's short game has also been in fine fettle this season, as he ranks 11th in strokes gained putting and 13th in scrambling, while his ability to handle windy conditions should serve him well if conditions get tough.

With Power 103rd in the FedEx rankings and the top 100 earning a PGA Tour card for next season, he knows a win in Bermuda will go a long way to securing his playing privileges.

Alternative Bet: Justin Lower to win and each-way @ 50/1

One final player to consider this week is Justin Lower, who is also looking to break his PGA Tour duck at the age of 37.

It has been a tough season for the American, who is 156th in the FedEx standings, but he recorded his best result of the year when tied 21st at the Bank of Utah Championship on his last appearance.

That effort should have given Lower a much-needed confidence boost and he will be eager to improve on that display now returning to a course he has previous at.

Finishing 17th on his Port Royal debut in 2021, Lower has since finished eighth, 20th and fifth before missing the cut last year, so there is plenty of evidence to suggest he enjoys this test.
