Learn more about 2021 World Darts Champion, 'The Iceman' Gerwyn Price.
Despite only coming through Q-School and gaining his professional status in 2014, Gerwyn Price has already racked up 44 title successes, five of which have come in major ranking events.
His breakthrough success came at the Grand Slam of Darts in 2018, and the Welshman has subsequently gone on to win that on two more occasions - in both 2019 and 2021.
Price is also a former World Darts Champion having conquered Alexandra Palace in 2021, beating Gary Anderson 7-3 in a one-way final which featured a 100.08 average.
The Iceman has also won the World Grand Prix, scoring a 5-2 success over Dutchman Dirk van Duijvenbode a year before his World Championship triumph.
Gerwyn Price is a serial winner, regularly claiming victories in World Series of Darts, European Tour and Players Championship events.
As well as capturing five major ranking titles, he has also won five World Series of Darts events, two World Cups, eight European Tour events and 17 Players Championship titles.
'The Iceman' is also a regular nine-dart hitter, having made seven in competitive action and he achieved a slice of history with one at the World Darts Championship in 2022.
He was also part of the Wales side which made the final of the World Cup of Darts in 2025, eventually losing out to Northern Ireland.
'The Iceman', Gerwyn Price, is the current world number seven in the PDC Order of Merit.
His triumph at the 2021 World Darts Championship propelled him to top spot in the world rankings, and he will no doubt be hoping to return to the top of the mountain once more.
Prior to making a switch to darts, Gerwyn Price was indeed a professional rugby player.
The Welshman was a late arrival to darts having originally chosen to pursue a career in rugby union and rugby league, initially serving as a hooker for Welsh Premier Division sides Neath and Cross Keys, before enjoying a brief spell in the Pro12 with Glasgow Warriors, acting as injury cover.
The 39-year-old hung up his boots in 2014 to focus on playing darts full-time and hasn't looked back since, establishing himself as a household darting name.
Gerwyn Price is known as also known by his moniker, 'The Iceman'.
The Welshman initially didn't have a nickname but his walk-on song was set with 'Ice, Ice Baby' by Vanilla Ice.
From there one of his friends suggested 'The Iceman' and he decided to stick with it.
Gerwyn Price now walks out to 'Nice to Meet You' by Myles Smith, after opting to ditch his previous 'Ice Ice Baby' track, by Vanilla Ice, in late 2025.
Gerwyn Price is 41 years old and his birthday is on 7th March.
The Welshman has been a PDC Tour professional for over a decade, having received his card in 2014, when he was in his late 20s.
He made his World Championship debut a year later, being beaten in the opening round by Peter Wright.
'The Iceman', Gerwyn Price, is Welsh through and through and was born in Markham, which is a small village in the South Wales Valleys in Caerphilly.
He still lives in the town to this day.
Gerwyn Price is currently seventh on the PDC Order Of Merit, which is done on a two-year basis, having amassed £619,750 during that period.
Gerwyn Price uses 24-gram Red Dragon darts and has used them ever since he started playing darts competitively in 2012.
It's estimated that Gerwyn Price's net worth is around £3m, with a chunk of that attributed to his World Darts Championship success in 2021.
The Welshman also has a number of side-businesses in property, as well as owning a fish and chips shop in his home town of Markham.
