How to bet on F1

Key markets

Race Winner - One of the most popular markets where you're selecting a driver to win the race.

In previous years when Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen were dominating, there wasn't much value in the race winner market but off the back of a remarkably competitive season in 2024, you can find some decent-priced winners.

Podium Finish - This market enables you to select whether any of the 20 drivers will finish on the podium or not.

Points Finish - Fancy a driver starting lower down the grid to cut through the field and claim a points finish? This is the market for you.

Winning Car - Similarly to the Win Outright market, the domination of Mercedes and Red Bull made the Winning Car market avoidable but with the constructors' championship proving increasingly competitive, there's value to be found.

It's worth noting that certain cars are better suited to specific circuits than others and this should come into consideration if betting on this market.

Fastest Lap - The incentive of a bonus point for setting the fastest lap has made betting on this market far less predictable and perhaps one to monitor in-play, with drivers who are in the points and have a 30-second buffer behind them likely to pit for fresh tyres in an attempt to set the fastest lap.

Fastest Qualifier - There are a variety of markets available for qualifying but the most popular is selecting who will take pole position.

Race Match Bets - A match bet pits two drivers against each other and you have to select which driver will finish higher. They tend to consist of two team-mates as they are in equal machinery, although there are many instances where you can wager on a match bet between two championship rivals in a race.

Match bets are also available in qualifying.

Each-way betting

An each-way bet is two bets in one and is predominantly used on the race winner market.

If your selection finishes 1st your bet is paid out in full, but you can still be paid out on the top three positions. So if your chosen driver finishes 2nd or 3rd, you will receive a return as they have placed.

The place part of your bet will pay out at a fraction of the win bet’s odds, depending on the terms. The terms are worth checking prior to placing your bet and can vary depending on several factors.

Season and race betting

Not only can you bet on individual races, but you're able to wager on season outrights as well.

You can select who will win the Drivers' Championship and Constructors' Championship, while there are season match bets for both championships which you can get involved in.

Different bet types

If selecting a race winner, singles are the most common betslip when betting on F1 but there's nothing to stop you from assembling an accumulator on the action.

An accumulator bet combines multiple individual bets into a single bet and is a popular option for punters looking to merge their match bet selections.
