League Two outfit Crawley Town are reportedly set to appoint former Sheffield United and Celtic forward Colin Kazim-Richards as the club's new manager.
Transfer correspondent Pete O'Rourke took to X to report that Crawley Town are closing in on the appointment of Colin Kazim-Richards as the club's new managaer following the dismissal of Scott Lindsey.
He said: "Understand Former Sheffield United and Turkey international forward Colin Kazım-Richards is set to be named the new Crawley Town manager. Kazim-Richards has worked at Arsenal coaching some youth sides.
"Birmingham academy coach Julian Gray is set to join the club as assistant to Kazim- Richards."
It's a pending appointment that few could of predicted, with the former journeyman set to take his first step into management in incredibly difficult circumstances.
The 39-year-old retired from club football with Turkish outfit Fatih Karagümrük in 2023, concluding a prestigious 19-year playing career. Kazim-Richards, who made 37 appearances for the Turkish national team, enjoyed stints with Brighton & Hove Albion, Sheffield United, Celtic and Derby County, also representing Super Lig giants Fenerbahce and Galatasaray.
While he's not yet managed at senior level, he was appointed as a coach in the Arsenal academy in 2024, gaining experience and adding to his managerial credentials with various youth sides.
He will have his work cut out for him when entering the Broadfield Stadium dugout however, with their 1-0 defeat against Fleetwood Town at the weekend extending their winless run to 10 games.
Crawley sit just one point above the drop zone in League Two and are priced at 11/4 to be relegated to the National League.
