Former Nottingham Forest manager Vitor Pereira has been linked with the Fulham hotseat with Alvaro Arbeloa under growing pressure.
There was buoyant enthusiasm when Arbeloa -- who had managed European giants Real Madrid for 28 games before parting ways with the club in May 2026 -- succeeded Marco Silva at Craven Cottage.
After losing the likes of Harry Wilson, Raul Jimenez, Issa Diop and Sasa Lukic in the summer, Fulham failed to add Premier League proven quality to the squad however, and while Arbeloa played a part in bringing across Gonzalo Garcia and Cesar Palacios to West London, the Cottagers appeared undercooked.
They sit 20th in the Premier League after six gameweeks, and reports suggest that the Fulham boss has just two games left to save his job.
Football Insider have reported that, in the event that Arbeloa is dismissed, Fulham are considering appointing Vitor Pereira.
The Portuguese manager is currently out of a job after parting ways with Nottingham Forest in bizarre fashion in July.
Pereira signed an 18-month contract with the Tricky Trees in February 2026 that would run until the end of the 2026/27 campaign, with the immediate objective of retaining the club's top-flight status in the midst of a relegation battle.
He did so successfully, guiding Forest to a 16th placed finish five points clear of 18th placed West Ham, but they opted to terminate the manager's contract in favour of appointing free agent Oliver Glasner.
Despite being sacked by Forest, Pereira's reputation stays intact after achieving what he set out to do at the City Ground.
His ability to steer Wolves away from safety in the 2024/25 season only adds to his credentials in England's top-flight, and he may be tasked with accomplishing a similar feat if hired to succeed the under pressure Arbeloa at Fulham.
