Torino v Como Prediction: 6/5 Douvikas to hit the target in Torino tussle

Two of Serie A's form teams collide in Turin on Tuesday as Torino attempt to continue their resurgence under Ignazio Abate against high-flying Como.

Both clubs arrive with identical form after three straight wins in all competitions, although Como's recent exploits have garnered far more attention.

Cesc Fabregas's side followed up a stunning 4-1 UEFA Champions League victory over Manchester United with another three league points at the weekend, defeating Sassuolo thanks to a brace from in-form forward Anastasios Douvikas.

The Lariani sit fifth in the current standings, only five points off the top and four points clear of the eighth-placed Toro.

After enduring a difficult start under new boss Abate, Torino have collected 13 points from their last six league matches and secured three consecutive Serie A victories for the first time since 2019.

Wins over Udinese, Parma and Monza have lifted the mood around the club, with goals beginning to flow more regularly.

With both teams playing attacking football and arriving in excellent form, this has all the ingredients for an entertaining contest.

Torino v Como

Torino v Como Prediction

Best Bet: Both Teams To Score @ 8/13

Backing both teams to find the back of the net looks like the standout play on Tuesday.

Torino have become far more effective going forward in recent weeks, scoring eight goals from 14 shots on target during their three-match winning streak.

Before that, the Granata had managed only six goals from 18 shots on target across their first seven league and cup games.

Forward Nikola Vlasic should also be more confident after recently ending a 13-game scoring drought dating back to last summer’s World Cup.

Como have no confidence issues at the moment and remain one of the most adventurous teams in Serie A.

Even when rotating heavily after their midweek European success, Fabregas’ side still managed to comfortably dispatch Sassuolo at the weekend.

Both teams have scored in eight of the Lariani’s matches this season and ahead of this clash with Torino, goals at both ends look the most logical outcome.

Alternative Bet: Anastasios Douvikas anytime goalscorer @ 6/5

Douvikas has been prolific of late, netting in each of his last four appearances.

The Greek striker has been getting his rewards for some tireless work off the ball and could have bagged a hat-trick against Sassuolo after seeing first-half effort hit the woodwork from a tight angle.

With the likes of Nico Paz, Lucas Da Cunha and Martin Baturina creating space and opportunities for him, Douvikas looks an obvious play to score again.

He scored twice the last time these two sides met in January when Como thrashed Torino 6-0.

Torino v Como Bet Builder Tip

  • Lucas Da Cunha to Score or Assist

  • Luis Milla to be Booked

  • Rafik Belghali 2+ Tackles

Da Cunha has been playing well of late and looks well placed to register a goal contribution.

Fabregas uses him to create overloads in areas where Como want to attack their opponents and he had the ball in the net after only seven minutes against Sassuolo, only for the goal to be ruled out for offside.

The Frenchman assisted on his national team debut last month, and against Man Utd in the UEFA Champions League last week.

Luis Milla, on the other hand, is Fabregas’ midfield destroyer and it is a surprise he has not collected more than one yellow card already this season.

That caution came late in the second half on Saturday and he could be in danger of receiving another in a competitive clash like this.

Belghali to make two or more tackles completes the Bet Builder. The Torino wing-back has made 10 tackles across his last three Serie A appearances and will have his hands full from facing in-form Como star Baturina.
