Norwich City v Watford Prediction: 2/1 Canaries can secure welcome win to nil

Norwich City and Watford are both struggling for form in the Championship and head into Saturday's lunchtime kick-off at Carrow Road in a disappointing 20th and 21st place in the table.

The Canaries ended a six-match losing streak with a welcome 3-1 win on the road at Charlton last week, while Watford, who also beat the Addicks in their previous match, went down 1-0 at Wolves in their fifth defeat in their last six games.

Both teams will see this as a fixture they should be taking points from but it's no surprise that the hosts have been made favourites as the Hornets' problems seem harder to overcome.

Norwich City v Watford Tips Summary

Best Bet - Norwich City to win to nil @ 2/1
Alternative Bet - Mathias Kvistgaarden first goalscorer @ 9/2
Bet Builder - Under 2.5 goals, Iker Bravo to be booked & Jacob Wright 1+ shot on target @ 10/1

Norwich City v Watford

Norwich City v Watford Prediction

Best Bet: Norwich City to win to nil @ 2/1

Backing Norwich City at home has come with plenty of risk over the last couple of seasons, but the Canaries look more likely to win when they host fellow strugglers Watford.

The Norfolk side began last season with a baffling run of eight successive home losses in all competitions and they have started this term in only slightly better form, with two wins and four defeats in their first six league games at Carrow Road.

However, they ended last season with only two fewer wins than losses at home and they can start to improve this season's figures by beating Watford.

Of the pair, Norwich look less likely to remain in the relegation battle, as they have been hit hard by injuries early in the season, but they have the potential to turn things around and deserve to pick up their first win in seven games after beating Charlton 3-1 last weekend.

Watford also beat Charlton, 2-0 at home the week before and, while their 1-0 loss to fourth-placed Wolves also looks like a respectable result, that could have been a much heavier defeat as the Hornets failed to have a shot on target in the match.

Norwich still haven't kept a clean sheet this season, but they could break that drought against the shot-shy visitors in what could be a low-scoring game between two teams short on confidence.

Alternative Bet: Mathias Kvistgaarden first goalscorer @ 9/2

With goals likely to be thin on the ground, a first-scorer bet could provide better value than an anytime goalscorer selection and Norwich striker Mathias Kvistgaarden catches the eye.

The Danish forward has netted more goals than any other player in the Canaries squad for Saturday, as top scorer Mohamed Toure remains sidelined with a shoulder injury after an impressive start to the season.

Kvistgaarden has picked up some of the slack in Toure's absence, and the former Brondby star took his campaign total to four in all competitions with his second goal against Charlton.

Norwich City v Watford Bet Builder Tip

  • Under 2.5 goals

  • Iker Bravo to be booked

  • Jacob Wright 1+ shot on target

    Pays 10/1

Start a three-leg bet builder on Saturday's Championship match at Carrow Road by expecting a dour battle and taking under 2.5 goals.

Norwich's last two home games produced only one goal each as they lost 1-0 to Southampton and Portsmouth, while Watford's last two fixtures have both had fewer than three goals.

It could be a feisty affair with both teams desperate for a win and Watford's Iker Bravo looks a prime candidate to be booked.

The Spaniard has received four yellow cards in his last eight appearances, including in each of his last two games against Charlton and Wolves.

Jacob Wright is another goal threat in the home line-up and the 21-year-old has scored twice in his last six league appearances, against Middlesbrough and Swansea. He is worth taking to have at least one shot on target.
